Fun ways to display kids art

Fun ways to display kids art

As a mom of a 5yr old I am constantly bombarded with arts and crafts that she makes at school. Naturally as a proud parent I love everything and keep it all! So instead of boxing everything up for no one to see I have started researching various ways in which to display some of her artwork. Its really win win for me at the moment, as it solves somewhat of a storage problem and helps us decorate her room. More about our home renovations in another post 🙂

My latest obsession..

My latest obsession..

I am totally addicted and in love with Pinterest and as someone who is always looking at new and crafty DIY ideas, decor for my new home and ways to plan children’s parties it’s absolutely perfect for me. Pinterest allows you to create a pin board which can be anything you like really, i have some for  cooking and baking, arts and crafts as well as my favourite for the home. I get to pin all these fantastic ideas I would like to have in my home and in a way collect my thoughts and plan accordingly.

I love looking at what interests other people and sharing my own ideas.. have a look and poke around, it will definitely inspire you!

Its been a while…

Its been a while…

So its been ages since I have last blogged, and it seems that I have been completely and utterly swamped with what we call Life. There have been baby showers, babies born, baptisms and birthdays a midst working and home renovations. I am however pleased to say that my kitchen is finally complete. The focus has now shifted to another room in the house – the lounge and my daughters bedroom.

Things are coming along nicely, I know I always say I plan on posting pics of the before and after of our household renovations but alas I keep forgetting to take the pics.

I am feeling somewhat uninspired at the moment – maybe its the flu, maybe its winter or perhaps its just me. I have listed things that I am grateful for many times before but I think its time for me to remind myself as this is whats keeps me going.

Today I am grateful for:

  • My Family and friends
  • A warm bed
  • A home of my own
  • Love
  • Forgiveness
  • Health

I really should try to blog more often – I think its good for the soul 🙂

My to do list 2012!

My to do list 2012!

Being someone who needs focus I am trying to set some goals for myself, it really is the only way to accomplish anything. With so much going on between , work and family I have been exhausted. Life is just too busy, and its starting to feel like it is really passing me by. I need to stop, relax and enjoy it more. I was inspired by this. So (God Willing) I hope to achieve the following.

  1. Relax & spend more time with my family.
  2. Fill my house with new and inspiring books.
  3. Do more things I love: Baking, Home DIY, Blogging
  4. Teach my daughter new things – painting, music, gardening.
  5. Complete my home:  We recently bought a “fixer upper” – you can read more about it here. There is still quite a lot to do.
  6. Visit my gran more – she  will be 90 this year, and I cant help but wonder how much longer she will be with us.
  7. Love.
  8. Practice patience
  9. Learn a new skill set
  10. Start playing the piano again – It was a great love of mine.

More often than not we get thrown curve balls along the way and in real life we don’t get to plan how we want things to play out. God already has that taken care of. Having said that it still makes me feel better to have something to work towards.
